GOT a Lotto cheque burning a hole in your pocket, or maybe you would love a new Toyota GR in your life? Well, good news, Toyota has just re-opened the order books on its stunning Yaris GR sports hatch.

Sean Hanley, Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing & Franchise Operations, said the company was also adopting a 'first in, first out' approach to orders.

“We always strive for a customer-first approach, so I’m pleased to announce we’re moving to a ‘first in, first out’ method for all GR performance cars,” Mr Hanley said.

“It’s the fairest way given the normalisation of supply of these in-demand sports cars,” he said.

With more than 2,500 GR Yaris variants sold in Australia, including 1,001of the track-focused GR Yaris Rallye variant, Mr Hanley said the GR range was reminding people driving a Toyota could be 'fun'.

“GR Yaris has been instrumental in the local success of the GR brand, which has reignited Toyota’s sports-car heritage in Australia and reminded us how much fun you can have driving a Toyota."

Total sales of the GR range since it launched in 2020 are 6,184, the Yaris GR models the biggest seller, with 2,591 finding homes in Australia, followed by the GR 86 range (1,609 units), and the range-topping Supra GR (1,171) - including 208 manual cars, after the three-pedal version was added to the line-up.

The GR Corolla GTS remains popular, with 788 cars delivered, plus another 25 of the two-seat Morizo edition cars, aimed at those wanting to go straight to the track.
