IN WHAT can be seen as a welcome boost to the Pathfinder range, Nissan Australia has unveiled the latest addition to the family, the ST-L spec model.
Available in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive, the ST-L brings the entry point to below $60,000 for the Manufacturer's Recommended Selling Price, while still offering a decent level of standard equipment.
Sriram Padmanabhan, Nissan Australia Marketing Director, said the new variants trace their heritage back to the original 1987 Pathfinder, and offer a premium cabin incorporating high levels of safety and technology.
“We’re thrilled to be able to unlock the fun and adventure a Pathfinder provides for even more people through the new ST-L and Ti 2WD grades - delivering more choice to the Australian consumer, and ensuring the Pathfinder is a value-packed proposition, no matter which model you choose," Padmanabhan said.
With no diesel or hybrid powertrain options, all models share the same 202 kilowatt/340 Newton-metre 3.5 litre petrol V6, backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission, with a 2.7-tonne towing capacity.
Nissan has included a 10.8" Head-Up Display (HUD) as standard across the range, along with a multi-mode driving selector including Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow and Tow modes, while the 4WD variants add Mud and Sand Terrain modes along with Hill Descent Control.
Other standard items include a power tailgate, front and rear parking sensors, the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite of advanced driving supports, Rear Seat Alert and nine airbags, including a new 'far-side' airbag, plus Dusk Sensing auto headlights with High Beam Assist.
The ST-L also gets 8-way power adjustment for the driver's seat, 6-way manual adjustment for the passenger, both with seat heating, remote engine start, which allows the tri-zone climate control system to begin heating or cooling the vehicle before the doors are opened, and Nissan's excellent Digital Around View Monitor system.
All models are fitted with Tyre Pressure Monitoring, with the ST-L and Ti models sitting on 18" rims, upgraded to 20" rims on the top-shelf Ti-L 4WD version.
The new models are available in Nissan dealers now, with the exception of the Ti-L 4WD, which is set to arrive in the last quarter of 2024.
Full range pricing and options are available from Nissan dealers.
