Hyundai will be facing the starter's flag at the 2023 Australian Hillclimb Championship at this year, with an i30N Drive-N Limited Edition competing in the Road Registered category.
Driven by motoring journalist Gary Worrall, the i30N will be in showroom specification, with the only modification the fitting of a mandatory fire extinguisher.
"It is a real privilege to have the chance to drive the i30N Drive-N in competition, and is a great chance to show the car's capabilities in racetrack conditions," Gary Worrall said.
"The car is absolutely as you would drive it off the showroom floor, I was too young for the Series Production races of the 1970s, but this is the modern day equivalent, you can literally drive straight to the track and compete."
The i30N is a front-wheel-drive 'hot hatch', with a 2-litre four cylinder turbo engine producing 206kW, delivered through an 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
"The standard i30 range has a well-earned reputation in the Australian marketplace, and the N versions take this to a whole new level, with their motorsport-focused upgrades, making them a great choice for enthusiasts wanting a car that can be driven every day, with the ability to perform at track days and competition events," Worrall said.
The 2023 Australian Hillclimb Championships are at the Ringwood Park Motorsports Complex, at Port Stephens in New South Wales, from Friday October 27 to Sunday October 29.
